MARY (DURKIN) MILES

Mary Durkin Miles, 72, of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at St. Joseph Main Hospital in Lexington, KY. Born July 2, 1954, in Atchison, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth Durkin. Mary had retired from Nestle and was currently working part time at Kentucky Mustang. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, and feeding others. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and with the grandchildren of others.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Carla (Chad) Ferguson of Mt. Sterling; 2 grandchildren Brittany Abner and Taylor Ferguson; 5 brothers: Edward (Natalie) Durkin of Kansas, Richard (Keri) Durkin of Virginia, Mike (Pam) Durkin of Florida, Dan Durkin of Kansas and Dwayne Durkin of Kansas;  2 sisters: Sharon Davis of Kansas and Patricia Durkin of Mexico; and special friends Duane & Tammy Hollon of Mt. Sterling.

Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Ledford Miles.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 10th at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Robbie Conn.

Burial to follow at Machpelah Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, KY.

Pallbearers: David Hollon, Jacob Hollon, Duane Hollon, Jacob George, Daryl Harvey, Jimmy Hunt.

Honorary Pallbearers: Taylor Ferguson, Chad Ferguson.
