MATTIE FAYE (JAMES) JONES

Mattie Faye Jones, age 69, of Bath County, passed away at home on Friday, December 27, 2024 surrounded by family.  Mattie was born in Mt. Sterling on July 21, 1955, to the union of the late William and Judy James.  Mattie was of the Baptist faith.  She dedicated her life to her family and loved taking care of them. She loved every single one of them immensely. 

Mattie is survived by her loving husband, Harold Bruce Jones, 1 daughter Beverly (Bobby) Short of Mt Sterling, 1 son David Young Crouch of Owingsville, 1 granddaughter Lyndsey (Shay) Record of Owingsville, 2 stepsons Jeffrey Bruce (Stephanie) Jones, Travis Lee (Kristie) Jones, 3 step-grandchildren Gavin, Jasmin and Logan Jones, 1 sister Catherine Rene (Kirk) Ross of Owingsville.

Besides her parents, Mattie was preceded in death by 2 brothers Bobby Allen James, Edward Lee "Sam" James, 1 sister Allie Joyce Davis.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the Herald & Stewart Chapel.  Family and Friends can visit from 11:00 a.m. till time of service.  Officiating will be Donald Foster. 

Burial will follow at the Kendall Springs Cemetery in Owingsville.

Pallbearers: Kirk Ross, Bobby Joe Ross, Bobby Lee Short, Shay Record, Alan Michael Tapp, Jonathan Ross.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kendall Springs Cemetery.
