MILDRED JOYCE (ANDERSON) PRATHER

Mildred Joyce Anderson Prather, age 94, of Owingsville, passed away peacefully at home with her family around her on December 2, 2024.  Mildred was born to the union of the late William and Mattie Lee Anderson on October 4, 1930, in Montgomery County, KY.  Mildred was blessed with a large family and loved spending time with them.  She loved animals, gardening and canning, and she really loved her Ale8’s and sweets.  Mildred was of the Christian faith and is now with her Lord.

She is survived by 3 daughters-Chalma (Charlie) Kennedy of Grayson, KY, Patsy Walters of Camargo and Lorna Brown of Owingsville; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Gene Prather, 1 daughter-Margie Reddix Bowman, 1 son-Danny Reddix, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals. Family and Friends can visit Wednesday, December 4, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals located at 1002 Woodford Drive, Mt. Sterling, KY.

Burial will follow at the West Cemetery in Montgomery County.

Honorary Pallbearers: Brandon Neal, Justin Neal, Matthew Rogers, Lonnie Anderson.
