Marion E. Martin, widower of Gladys Martin passed away peacefully September 30, 2022 at the home of his daughter. He was 84 years old, born in Bath County to the late Elgin B and Opal Rena Robinson Martin. He was a member of the Pentecostal Faith.
Marion is survived by three daughters: Rena (Greg) Purvis, Elizabeth (Todd) Cox and Amy (Jason) Taulbee, all of Mt. Sterling; a sister, Linda (Gary) Highley, of Olympia, two brothers, Dean Martin and Joe (Geraldine) Martin, both of Mt. Sterling; three grandchildren, Matthew Jones, Kacie Taulbee and Kierra Taulbee; three step-grandchildren, Gregory (Melissa) Purvis, Lora (Patrick) Muse and Sarah Purvis (Justin Lisle); four step-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Updike, two grandsons, John Thomas Jones, Jr and Joshua Shane Conkright.
His graveside service will be 2:00 Monday at Machpelah Cemetery, Timothy Updike presiding. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in care of arrangements.
