Mary Sexton Cutis, widow of John F. Curtis, of Mount Sterling, passed away August 24, 2021. She was an 85 year old native of Montgomery County, born to the union of the late Charles and Flora Spencer Sexton, a homemaker and former employee of Windsor Care Center. Mary was a proud member of the House of Deliverance and Pentecostal Faith, in addition to attending Rolling Hills Church of Christ.
She is survived by 8 children; Frances Allen (Randy), Gracie Coyle, Thomas Sexton (Janet Sue), Rodney Sexton, James Curtis (Pamela), Russell Curtis, Donald Curtis and Michael Curtis (Debbie), along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, Mary is preceded in death by 3 sisters Gertrude Wightman, Della Barnes Hendrix and Pearl Romine, 3 brothers; Roy Sexton Russell Sexton and Robert Sexton, and a special niece and "running buddy"; Lucy Hinson.
Mary's funeral will be 2:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastors Dan Murphy, Kevin Miles and Ricky Meadows presiding with burial to follow in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Herald & Stewart.
