Mary Alice Downs, wife of Darvin L. Downs, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, KY. She was an 84 year old born in Hazard, KY to the union of the late John and Polly Gayhart, a homemaker and member of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by her husband, Darvin Downs, 2 daughters; Sherry Royce (Robert) and Shirlee Downs-Inlow (Michael), a granddaughter, Kayla McLaughlin (Dylan), 3 great grandchildren; Jason Garrett, James McLaughlin and Lorelai McLaughlin, along with several other family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Neace and a brother, Isaac Gayhart.

Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Dean Rollins presiding with burial to follow in Rest Haven Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
