Melissa Nancy Burgess Davis, widow of Forest Davis Jr., passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at her residence in Mt. Sterling. She was a 72 year old born in Clark County, KY to the union of the late Raymond and Laura Smith Burgess, a homemaker and member of the Christian Faith.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Donna Roe (James) and Drenna Workman (David); a son, Matthew Davis (April Chalfant); 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 2 special sisters, Jean Givin (Bob) and Dianna Cooper (Phillip); along with a brother, Andy Burgess (Ruby). In addition to her husband and parents, Melissa was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Mink Jr.; and 2 brothers, Steve Burgess and James Burgess.
Her funeral will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Alan Ratliff presiding with burial to follow in The Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Anthony Cooper, Terry Hisle, Clifford Masters, Randy Myers, Cayden Burgess and Scott Beverley.
