Michael Wayne Johnson

Michael Wayne Johnson, husband of Kathline Diane Sexton Johnson, of Winchester, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021.  He was a 63 year old born in Dearborn, Michigan, the son of the late Claude Johnson and Nancy Lacy Gross, a retired tool and die maker from CMWA after 22 years and a member of Bedford Acres Christian Church in Paris.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mindy (Lance) Schwartz, 2 grandchildren, Xander & Xavier Schwartz, five great-grandchildren, Blakely Lewis, Madeline & J.P. Ferguson, Jaron & Jocelyne Lewis, Alexander Hal, an aunt, Helen Lacy and a cousin, Natasha Lacy (Rick) Terry. Mike was also loved by his extended family: Arnette Curtis Jefferson, Angie (Cliff) Lewis, Aaron (Diandra) Lewis, Matthew (Lyndsey) Lewis, Taylor (Jonathan) Ferguson, Toni (Scott) Leach, Brandon & Brooke Leach, Chuck (Mica) Hall, Abbey (Dustin) Stevens,  and Jamie (Shelby) Hall.

Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, grilling and boating.  He spent many nights relaxing by a giant campfire enjoying time with family and friends.  Mike had a great love for music, especially classic rock.  In the past year, he was blessed to reunite with his former band, Centarus.  He considered each band member and their spouses as family.  We know that he will be rocking on his bass in Heaven.  As a dear friend said, now he's having the ultimate J.A.M. session... It is now a "Jesus and Mike" session.

His funeral will be 2:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Dean Scott and Darrell Clemons presiding, with burial in Alfrey Cemetery.  Visitation is 12-2:00 Monday. Pallbearers are Matthew Lewis, Jonathon Ferguson, Darrell Clemons, Glen Johnson and Henry Dickerson.  Honorary pallbearers are Stan Bumgardner, Cliff Lewis, Tom Arnold and Rick Hash.
