Nancy Carol Jones, 68, born on December 25, 1957, in Mt. Sterling, KY, found her eternal rest on Thursday, October 1, 2026.She was the daughter of the late Wallace “Jack” and Deloris Jones.
Nancy Carol, as she was called by family and friends, was a lifelong and faithful member of High Street Christian Church, from being a member of the choir to later becoming a Sunday School teacher. Before retiring, Nancy spent 25 years in Dietary at a Nursing Home.
In her spare time, Nancy thoroughly enjoyed watching any and all Hallmark movies, supporting her grandchildren in their events, and cheering on the UK Wildcats. She cherished spending time with her family at various events and family functions, where she was affectionately known as their “Dancing Queen.” Her joyful spirit and love of family made every gathering a little brighter. She was given the nickname "Wanky Carol" by her oldest granddaughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Meaci (Jerry Jr.) Stevens of Lexington, KY; and her two granddaughters, whom she affectionately called her “heartbeats,” Darian Mitchell and Savannah Stevens, both of Lexington, KY.
Nancy is also survived by her sisters, Darmita (Howard) Clemons of Mt. Sterling, Jacqueline (Danny) Hamblin of Louisville, KY, and Lynette (Ronald) Owens of Mt. Sterling, KY; and her brother, Steven C. Jones of Mt. Sterling, KY.
She leaves behind her loving nephews and nieces, Dexter Clemons of Colorado, Tevis Blanton of Mt. Sterling, Wallace “Blake” Owens of Mt. Sterling, Tonya Clemons of Georgetown, KY, and Morgan (DeShawn) Steele of Lexington, KY.
Nancy was also blessed with great-nieces Olivia Owens, Blakelyn Owens, Julia Steele, and great-nephew Braylon Owens.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister Sherry Gay.
Nancy also treasured the special friendships she shared with Jacqueline Hayden and Regina Livers. She enjoyed their outings together, the laughter they shared, and the many cherished memories they created along the way.
