Nancy Parks Mayes, age 69, of Means, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead, KY. Nancy was born March 19, 1956, in Ohio, to the late Clayton and Helen Trusty Parks. Nancy was blessed with a large family and lived her life loving and caring for them. Nancy enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and spoiling her grandchildren. She was an active, faithful member of the Freewill Pentecostal church.
Nancy is survived by her 5 daughters: Bonnie (George Cundiff) Mayes of Owingsville, Marsha (Lonnie Spence) Butler of Owingsville, Katie (Brandon Thompson) Mayes of Mt. Sterling, Stacey Mayes of Harlan KY, Casey (Phillip Wireman) Mayes of Means, KY; 12 grandchildren: Kimberly, Danielle, Billy, George “Kenzie”, Michaela, Anna, Shelbi, Gabe, Bentley, Abby, Hayden, Carson; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters: Betty (Jess) Myers, Anita (Les) Notestine, Tonya (David) Shope; 3 brothers: George (Nancy) Parks, Fred (Dorothy) Parks, James (Eva) Parks; 1 sister in law Brenda Parks; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband William Mayes and a brother Ronald Parks.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Freewill Pentecostal church. Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the Freewill Pentecostal church-6291 Hwy 460 W, Frenchburg, KY. Officiating will be Travis Parks and Chad Curran.
Burial will follow at the Henderson-Parks Cemetery in Jeffersonville, KY.
