Nancye Ruth (Burns) Watkins

Nancye Ruth Watkins, wife of Daryll Watkins, passed away April 26, 2023, at her residence after a prolonged illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Nancye loved the simple things in life, flowers, beautiful sunrises, and watching the birds outside of her window.

Her memory will live on through her husband, Daryll, her three daughters: Sherees (Kevin) Darnell, Shonda (Greg) Thomas, and Carmen (Doug) Watkins. Mrs. Watkins will be dearly
missed by her eight grandchildren whom she adored, Noah Watkins, raised by Nancye and Daryll, Emily (Will) Thompson, Lukas Thompson, Adam (Amber) Prater, Alaina Thomas, Addison
Thomas, Zavier Darnell, and Aaron Watkins. She also dearly treasured by her great-grandson, Dawson Prater.

Mrs. Watkins is also survived by her siblings: Donnie (Angela) Browning, Larry (Vandetta) Browning, Faye Crowe, Ricky (Rhonda) Burns, and Vicky Brown. She will be missed by her
sisters-in-law: Waveline Silvers, Nora Miller, Katherine (Vernon) Tipton, her brother-in-law James (Beulah) Watkins, and all her nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her loving mother, Addie Burns, and her siblings: Jerry Ray Burns, Doug Browning, Janice Norris, Joann Jones, and Brenda Montgomery.

The family will begin their journey of healing, treasuring the precious time they had with her.

Her memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 1st , 2023, at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals. Visitation will take place prior to the memorial service from 12:00-2:00 p.m.
at the funeral home.
