Norma Jean Walters Appling, widow of Elmer Floyd Appling, of Versailles, passed away Thursday, November 17, 2022. She was an 87-year-old born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the union of the late Ollie J. and Mattie Wells Walters, a homemaker and retired Cowden's Manufacturing employee and a member of the Versailles Baptist Church.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Rhonda S. Hasty (Roger D.), Marla L. Appling (Joe Lynch), and Paula J. Roberts (Jim), 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, Sue Risner, Frances Wilson, Linda Witt, Brenda Gail Ballard and Ella Mae Ingram, and 3 brothers, Ottis Walters, Stephen Walters and Ricky Walters. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas T. Appling.
Her funeral will be 1:00 Wednesday at Hope First Church of God, Pastor Glenn Sizemore presiding, with burial to follow in Fortune Cemetery. Visitation is 11-1:00 Wednesday at the church.
