Obie Thomas Bowles, affectionately known as Tom, passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 75. He was born on April 4, 1949, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, to the union of Obie and Emma Bowles. Tom most recently lived in Paris, Kentucky.
Tom dedicated over 50 years of his life to working as a truck driver. He was a kind-hearted man who loved his family tremendously and was known for his passion for cooking, canning, and gardening. Tom's Christian faith guided his life, and his loving presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
For 42 years, Tom shared his life with his loving partner, Wanda Curtis. He is survived by two sons, Travis (Brandi) Bowles of Richmond, and Chris (Susan) Bowles of Clay City. Tom was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Velma Johnson and Nancy Jones, both of Mt. Sterling.
He is preceded in death by both of his parents, and one brother, Charles Bowles.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
