Oliver "Red" Willoughby, husband of 73 years to the love of his life, Mary M. Willoughby, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2023. He was a 91 year old born in Montgomery County, Kentucky to the union of the late Nelson and Elemeth Reffitt Willoughby. He was a life long farmer, and cattle grader, retiring from the Paris Stockyards after 40 years. He was a member of the Cattleman's Association and sold produce on Camargo Road for over 25 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Garry (Carlie) Willoughby, and Donnie (Sherry) Willoughby, and a daughter, Karen (Linville) Rose, all of Jeffersonville, grandchildren, Kevin and Gina Rose, Chris and Bridget Willoughby, Stephen and Jaime Willoughby, Paul and Stacy Willoughby, and Donna and James Hendrix, all of Jeffersonville, Sandra Willoughby of Winchester and Sammy and Kristie Rose of Mt. Sterling, great-grandchildren, Austin Willoughby, Halie Rose and Tanner White, Colby and Clay Rose, Cody and Kelli Willoughby, Logan and Lauren Rose, Emily and Daniel Newell, Matthew, Lacy and Jaden Willoughby, and James Hendrix, a great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Newell, 2 brothers, Stanley Willoughby of Mt. Sterling and Wendell (Karen) Willoughby of Clark County, and 2 sisters, Margie (Mitchell) McCarty of Jeffersonville, and Linda (Larry) Hart of Somerset.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Joe Pete (Wanda) Willoughby, Nelson (Bonnie) Willoughby and Alvin (Mattye) Willoughby, Allen Willoughby, Ollie Willoughby (Ruby) and a sister, Myrtle Drake.
His funeral will be 2:00 Thursday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Charles Wills, Ron Catchen and Brother Turner presiding, with burial to follow in Willoughby Cemetery. Visitation is 11-2:00 Thursday. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in care of arrangements.
