PEGGY JO (THOMPSON) RENFRO

Peggy Jo Thompson Renfro, age 59, of Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Monday, September 22, 2025 after a long illness.  Peggy was born September 2, 1966, in Mt. Sterling, to Omer and Charlene Wightman Thompson.  Peggy worked at Kroger for 30 years. Peggy dedicated her life to caring for her family, especially her grandbabies.  She loved working in her flowers and watching the hummingbirds while sitting on the porch.   Peggy was of the Christian faith.

Peggy is survived by her husband Allen Renfro of Mt. Sterling; 2 daughters Nikki Dennis of Mt. Sterling and Mindy Collett of Mt. Sterling; 2 sons Travis (Roberto) Renfro of Jeffersonville and Cory Hawkins of Lexington; 4 grandchildren Ryan Dennis, Lane Dennis, Adalynn Collett and Colton Collett; her mother Charlene Thompson; 1 brother Danny (Debbie) Thompson; 2 sisters Marilyn (Jeff) Raney, Pam (Mike) Orme.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father Omer Thompson.

Funeral services will be Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals.   Visitation will be 6:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25th, at Herald & Stewart Chapel.  Officiating will be James Hendrix.

Burial will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
