Peggy Reddix, 76 passed away on Sunday November 13th, 2022 at her home in Jeffersonville, KY.
Peggy is the daughter of the late June and Juanita Moore. She is survived by her husband, Mort Reddix, one sister, Carol Lockett of Mt. Sterling, one son, Darrell (Sharon) Reddix, of Jeffersonville, one daughter-in-law Paula Reddix of Mt. Sterling, two granddaughters, Dannah(Aaron)Donathan of Owingsville and Cameron Reddix of Richmond, two nephews, Brian (Melissa) Lockett of Winchester and Bradley (Julie) Lockett of Mt Sterling.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Chris Reddix and Galen Reddix, one brother, Buzz Moore, one granddaughter, Madison Calvert, one nephew, Paul Locket, and one brother-in-law Kenneth Lockett.
Peggy loved to cook, and was famous for her Rum Cake and Jalapeno Pie. She was always learning new things, and believed in keeping her mind sharp. She could always make you smile whether with a joke or a home cooked meal. She believed, above all else, that no news was good news and never failed to make you feel welcome.
She loved to tell people that she only "ordered" sons and granddaughters. Having only sons and only granddaughters, she liked to say that's because she was never wrong.
Her favorite thing in the world was having friends and family gather at her home for Christmas Bingo. She was a 3 year Christmas Bingo Champion, but an even better bowler. Peggy spent much of her free time, traveling and camping, and always had a canine companion close by, a trait she successfully passed down to both granddaughters.
Peggy was a member of Spring Street Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She loved to sing in church and enjoyed singing gospel music while Mort played guitar to accompany her.
She lived a life many would be proud to have, spending 58 years with her husband Mort, raising 3 sons and seeing two grandchildren graduate college. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, fond memories, and coveted recipes.
A private graveside service for family and close friends will take place at Machpelah Cemetery.
Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
