RICHARD MOORE Obituary

Richard E. Moore, age 83, of Mt. Sterling, KY passed away Saturday, July 5, 2025 surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Main, Lexington, KY.  Richard was born March 28, 1942 to the union of the late William “Wes” and Helen Gay Moore.  Richard worked hard to provide for his family as a farmer and a factory employee.  He was a member of the Slate Creek Pentecostal Church of God, where he was a Sunday School teacher for 30 years.

Richard is survived by his wife Brenda Sue Williams Moore of Mt. Sterling; 2 daughters– Melissa Martin of Mt. Sterling, Jill (Charlie) Runnels of Mt. Sterling; 1 son Chace Lopez of Mt. Sterling; 3 Granddaughters Olivia Marshall, Ashlea Muncy and Elizabeth Walsh; 6 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters Judy Welch of Lexington and Sherry McVey of Mt. Sterling.

Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by 1 daughter Cindy Crouch and 1 brother Doug Moore.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Slate Creek Pentecostal Church of God, Hope Means Road, Means, KY 40346.   Visitation will be Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 6:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. at the Slate Creek Pentecostal Church of God.  Officiating will be Larry Williams, Jr.

Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery on Hawkins Branch Road in Frenchburg, KY.

Pallbearers: Chace Lopez, Charlie Runnels, Smiley Ballard, David Lawson, Ernie Tackitt, Stacy Gross.
