ROGER LEE SEXTON

Roger Lee Sexton, age 77, the widower of Laura Alice Ward Sexton, passed away on June 27, 2025, in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, peacefully surrounded by his family. Roger was born on April 30, 1948, in Mathena, West Virginia to the union of the late Elbert and Hurmal Gibson Sexton. He was a veteran from the Army in the Vietnam Era and was a truck driver and instructor.  Roger was of the Christian faith.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Daniel) Willoughby of Jeffersonville, KY; two sons, Michael Lee (Patricia) Sexton of Campton, KY, and John Scott (Kim) Sexton of Jeffersonville, KY; his eight grandchildren, Nathan (Cheyenne) Sexton, Matthew (Kassidy) Sexton, Megan (Codie) Sexton, Brandon Sexton, Shelly (Noah) Sexton, Trevor Ward, Isaac Sexton, and Luke Sexton; six great-grandchildren, and with God’s blessing, many more to come; and his sister Gladys (Junior) Millsaps.

Besides his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Bob Sexton and Ron Sexton; and two sisters, Jean Paynter and Phyllis Bragg.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at the Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Officiating will be Chris Shaw. Burial will follow at the Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery in Jeffersonville, KY with Military Rites by American Legion Post 22.

Pallbearers: Mike Sexton, Brandon Sexton, Matthew Sexton, John Sexton, Nathan Sexton, Daniel Willoughby, and Trevor Ward.

Honorary Pallbearers: Chris Arnett, Isaac Sexton, and Luke Sexton.
