Richard Jones departed this life on Wednesday night, September 18, 2024 in Libertyville, Illinois at the Avantara
Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 19, 1953 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Stella Wilson Garrett and Wallace Jackson “Jack” Jones.
Richard was a native of Mt. Sterling, but before his sickness resided in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He professed his faith in Jesus Christ at a very young age at High Street Christian Church. He regularly attended Heritage Baptist Church in Kenosha, Wisconsin until his sickness. He had retired from the auto parts industry, but continued working part-time at O’Reilly’s in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Richard attended and graduated from Mt. Sterling High School. He enjoyed watching sports. He was an avid fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats and the Cincinnati Bengals. Richard also enjoyed bowling and participated in several bowling leagues.
To mourn his memory, he leaves four sisters: Robbi (Tony) Barber of Georgetown, KY; Jacqueline (Danny) Hamblin of Louisville, KY; Nancy Jones and Lynette (Ronald) Owens both of Mt. Sterling, KY; seven brothers: Charles Faulkner (Frankie Jane) of Greenville, TX; Robert (Joyce) Faulkner of Warren, OH; James Walker of Hemet, CA; Jackson Jouett of Waukegan, IL; and Michael (Iva) Stevens, Darvin Jouett and Stevie Jones all of Mt. Sterling; two special cousins: Veronica (Andy) Givens of Winchester, KY and Leo Walker of Lexington, KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, aunts and uncles, he was preceded in death by his sister: Gizelle Crouch and nephew Kennedy Crouch.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Herald & Stewart Chapel. Friends & Family can visit from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service.
Burial will be at the Machpelah Cemetery Chapel following the service.
