Ruby (Ballard) Tufano

Ruby Ballard Tufano, originally of Means, was one of ten children.  She was a member of Full Gospel Word of God Pentecostal Church.  She and her husband, "Louie", owned and operated two businesses in Jeffersonville, an electronic repair service as well as a country store located at 460 and Hawkins Branch.  She was also employed at A.O. Smith.  Despite receiving very little formal education, her husband attributed their family's success to Ruby's ability to gainfully manage their finances.  Ruby was also a skilled homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, preserving foods, and sewing quilts and clothing.  In her free time, she enjoyed completing jig-saw puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Lewis Tufano, her father and mother, Albert and Rosa Baxter Ballard, two sisters, Beulah Ballard Howells, and Myrtle Ballard Fergerson, and six brothers, Roscoe, Johnie, Walter "Radio", Floyd, Claude, and Cecil Ballard, her son, David Lewis Tufano, and her grandson, Scott (Teresa) Tufano.

Survivors include her brother, Lloyd Ballard of Means, two sons, Danny (Regina) Tufano, Donald (Kathy) Tufano, one granddaughter, Candice Tufano, one grandson, William Albert Lewis "Walt" Tufano, and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Tufano.

Her funeral will be 1:00 Friday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Ike Sams presiding, with burial in Lovely Amburgey Cemetery.  Visitation is 5-8:00 Thursday.
