Shirley Coleman Brooks, age 84, of Mt. Sterling, passed away November 18, 2024 at the Windsor Care Center. She was born on October 23, 1940 to the union of the late James & Martha Garrett Coleman in Mt. Sterling, KY. Shirley graduated from DuBois High School in 1958. She retired from A. O. Smith and was a life time member of the Keas Tabernacle CME church where she served in many capacities, including Sunday School Superintendent, Usher, Stewardess Emeritus, a member of the Willing Workers, overseer of the kitchen and cooking. Shirley was also a Missionary worker for the Lord.
Shirley is survived by her nieces Letitia Coleman of Louisville, KY., and Lolita Coleman of Baltimore, Maryland; 1 nephew– Sean (Devona) Pauley of Dayton, Ohio; a host of cousins; her daughter in law Carolyn Oldham and her sister in law Doris Coleman.
She was in preceded in death by her son Zachary Oldham, 2 brothers-James Coleman and Robert Coleman.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23rd at 2 p.m. at the Keas Tabernacle CME church located at 101 South Queen Street, Mt. Sterling. Family and Friends can visit Saturday from 12:00 noon till time of service. Officiating will be Rev. Darrell Hayden and Rev. Lisa Snorton.
Burial will follow at the Machpelah Cemetery.
