Sherry Renee Raney

Sherry Renee Raney passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington, KY. She was a 53 year old born in Montgomery County to James Raney and Dorothy Sponcil Baker, a graduate of Montgomery County High School and member of Freedom Church of God.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Sponcil Baker; step father, David L. Baker; step sister, Betty Wightman; step brother, James Baker; special friend, Christy Treadway; along with many friends, loved ones and her Freedom Church of God family.

Her funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor William "Hoss" Prater presiding with burial to follow in Little Slate Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2023 at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Clarence Sponcil, Kenny Becraft, Chad Wightman, Irvin Wightman, David Bailey, Mark Thompson and Jeb Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Mills, Bro. William Prater and Anthony Brandenburg.

Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
