Shirley Lee Tabor, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born on February 7, 1936, in Carter County, KY to the union of Alvin and Sarah Caudill. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and exceptional cooking skills. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and countless moments of laughter that she shared with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all.
Shirley is preceded in death by her son, James Doodle Tabor, both of her parents, and eight of her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Johnnie Tabor, two sons; Kirby (Marsha) Tabor, and Johnnie Howard (Jenny) Tabor, her six grandchildren; April(Bryan) Lawson, Megan (Jeremy) Greene, Sarah (Brandon) Tabor, Brandi (Eric) Cook, Maci (Jared) Daniels, and Spencer (Sydney) Tabor, her 4 great grandchildren; Mason Lawson, Shelby Lawson, Kyra Wheeler, and Jameson Daniels.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals Chapel in Mt. Sterling. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Officiating the service will be Charles “Hammer” McGuire. Burial will follow at Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery.
