Obituary

Steven "Brad" Akers passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023 in Lexington, KY. He was a 40 year old born in Montgomery County, KY to the union of Curt Steve Akers and the late Laquetta Sue Burns Akers, a volunteer firefighter and member of the Christian Faith.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Realynn Silcox and Sadie Mae Akers; his father, Curt Steve Akers; step mother, Rhonda Akers; 2 sisters, Alicia Watkins (Randell) and Valarye Justice (Justin); a brother, Jesse Lindon (Gabby); his step maternal grandmother, Anna Trent; 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 4 aunts and 1 uncle. In addition to his mother, Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Nella and Curt J. Akers; maternal grandparents, Anna Burns and Frank Whitaker; and his great grandmother, Iva Becraft.

His funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Linville Spangler presiding with burial to follow in Lovely-Amburgey Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are placed in the care of Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
