Vernon J. Gross, age 91, of Camargo, KY, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Fountain Circle Care & Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, KY.  Vernon was born March 2, 1935, in Estill County to the late Lindsey Ray and Letha Johnson Gross. He was retired from many years of factory work.   He leaves behind a large family that will miss him and cherish his memory.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, mowing for other people and the Williams Cemetery. He loved gardening and had the most beautiful one you have ever seen.  

Vernon is survived by his wife Alberta Williams Gross of Camargo; his daughter Tassie (Ron) Seiler of Oak Ridge, MO; 1 stepdaughter Sheila (Frank) McDaniel Apicella of Camargo; 4 stepsons: Barry Back, Doug (Terri) Back, Wayne (Pastora) Back, Dennis (Tena) Back all of Mt. Sterling; 1 granddaughter-Rachael (Tim) Vester; 1 great-granddaughter-Adalynn Sue Vester; 11 step grandchildren; and 1 brother Venard Gross.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents Lindsey Ray and Letha Johnson Gross and his wife Pansy Crowe Gross.

Funeral services will be Thursday, 12 :00 p.m. May 14th at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Officiated by Reverend Tim Jones.
Burial to follow at Williams Cemetery in Frenchburg, KY.
