Virgie Lee Greene

Virgie Lee Greene, 79, of Mt. Sterling, went home to be with the Lord, December 22, 2023 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling. She was born and raised in Montgomery County, KY. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Sterling, where she dearly loved participating in her Sunday School Class.

Virgie is survived by 2 daughters, Tanya Rice (Larry) of Mt. Sterling, and Toni Thompson (Steven) of Winchester; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay McCane (David), McKenzie Peyton (Tyler), Halie Gunderson (Cameron), Asher Thompson and Addison Thompson; along with 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Lula Greene; a brother, Fred Greene; and 2 sisters, Mayme Norris and Mattie Garrett.

Her funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Austin Lewis presiding with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Asher Thompson, Kevin Kinghorn, Danny Garrett, Rick Spencer, Jamie Norris and Blake Spencer. Honorary pallbearers will be her Sunday School Class.
