WILDA (RUSSELL) JOHNSON

Wilda Russell Johnson, age 73, of Olympia, KY, passed away August 20, 2026, at the UK St. Claire Medical Center, Morehead, KY.  Wilda was born May 20, 1953, in Lexington, KY to the late Lawrence and Lillian Gardner Russell.  Wilda and her husband of 55 years, Jim, were blessed with three beautiful daughters, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy and devoted her life to caring for them in every way she could.  

Wilda is survived by her loving husband James W. Johnson, Jr. of Olympia; 3 daughters: Neisha (William) Postelnick of Mt. Sterling, Jennifer (Patrick) Dunn of Jeffersonville and Heather Gandee of Mt. Sterling; 4 grandchildren: Jordan (Caitlyn) Postelnick, Meghan (Hristo) Terziev, Olivia Gandee and Quentin Gandee; 3 great-grandchildren: Luka Terziev, Kyler Postelnick, Brinley Postelnick; 3 sisters: Debbie (Billy) Caudill of Mt. Sterling, Helen (Danny) Ginter of Preston, Anita (Mike) Mann of Mt. Sterling; and 1 brother-Lawrence (Lajuania) Russell, Jr. of Jeffersonville and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents, Wilda was preceded in death by 1 brother-Kevin Russell and a nephew James Lawrence Russell, III.

The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 24th at Herald & Stewart Home For Funerals.  Visitation will be Sunday, August 23rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Herald & Stewart. Officiating will be David Dooley.

Burial to follow at Machpelah Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Travis Ginter, Tyler Ginter, Trevor Ginter, William Spears, Paul Willis, Shem Russell.
