Wanda McClain Willoughby, widow of Joe Pete Willoughby, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at her residence in Mt. Sterling, KY. She was 84 years old, born and raised in Montgomery County to the union of the late Granville McClain and Ida Harvey Amburgey. Wanda was a retired seamstress, homemaker and member of Hope First Church of God. Most importantly, Wanda was a good Christian woman, and a wonderful mom and nanny.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy "Bub" Willoughby (Connie), 2 daughters; Connie Cody (Thomas) and Perdita Dunn (Hank), 3 grandchildren; Feather Wafford (Ned), Kevin Willoughby (DeElla) and Justin Wafford (Stacey), along with 3 great grandchildren; Zoe Wafford (Brittany), Logan Wafford and Emma Sue Willoughby. In addition to her husband and parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her sister, Edith Cox.
Her funeral will be Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Bro. Glenn Sizemore presiding with burial to follow in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Justin Wafford, Ned Frazier, Stacy Willoughby, Troy Wilson, Millard Anderson and Andy Dunn.
