William Mayes, husband of Nancy Parks Mayes, of Means, KY passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was a 69 year old born in Madison County to the union of the late Mitchell and Emma Moore Mayes, a farmer and member of the Pentecostal Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy P. Mayes, 5 children; Marsha Butler (Lonnie Spence), Bonnie Mayes (George Cundiff), Katie Mayes, Stacey Mayes and Casey Mayes (Philip Wireman), 11 grandchildren; Kimberly, Billy, Danielle, Kenzie, Kayla, Anna, Gabe, Hayden, Bentley, Carson and Abby, 5 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Mitchell Mayes Jr. and Bobby Joe Mayes (Debbie), 2 sisters; Diane Helton and Sheila Mayes, a son-in-law; Jonathan Lee, 3 brother-in-laws; James Parks (Eva), George Parks (Nancy) and Fred Parks (Dorothy), along with 4 sister-in-laws; Anita Notestine (Leslie), Betty Myers (Jessie), Tonya Horn (Ed) and Brenda Parks. In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his sister; Shirley Mayes, father-in-law; Clayton Parks, mother-in-law; Helen Parks, son-in-law; Jeremy Butler, and brother-in-law; Ronald Parks.
His funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastors Travis Parks and Carl McGuire Jr. presiding with burial to follow in Henderson-Parks Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
