William Cecil Oldfield, widower of Mary Coburn Oldfield, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020. He was a 93 year old native of Montgomery County, son of the late William Thomas and Mary Ann Montgomery Oldfield, and Army veteran, a mechanic and member of Gateway Church of God.
He is survived by a son, Chester (Donna) Oldfield, a daughter, Priscilla (Chester) Rogers, 4 grandchildren, Brian Rogers, Melissa (Brian) Lockett, Angela Oldfield, and Cathy (Mike) Hobbs, 3 great-grandchildren, Keith Rogers, Mathew Rogers and Jerrica Rice, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, Kade Dow, Karmen Rogers, Alana Walker, Waylon Thomas Rice and Olivia Rogers.
His funeral will be 2:00 Tuesday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Jessie Rogers and Pastor David Campbell presiding, with burial to follow in Lovely Amburgey Cemetery. Visitation is 12-2:00 Tuesday. Pallbearers are Brian Lockett, Mike Hobbs, Keith Rogers, Matthew Rogers, Bill Cline and Rick Oldfield. Honorary pallbearers are Luther Fritts, R.T. Oldfield, Vernon Martin, Carlie Bellamy, Tommy Windon, Ronald Montgomery, Curley Montgomery and John Gooding.
