Willie Lee Tabor, husband of Betty Harris Tabor, of Carlisle, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021. He was an 88 year old born in Montgomery County, Kentucky to the union of the late Woodford and Ressie Alsept Tabor, a retired general contractor and a member of Little Easter United Baptist Church. He was also a farmer, general contractor, an avid gardener, fisherman and turtle hunter.
In addition to his wife of 69 years, he is survived by 4 children, Nancy (Ron) Cook, Wanda Lee, Janice Pryor and Peggy (David) Hardwick, 11 grandchildren, Teresa (John) Ferro, Todd (Becky) Cook, Allan (Celesta) Welch, Whitney (Amanda) Welch, Laura Messer, John (April) Tabor, Clinton (Megan) Tabor, Crystal (Kenny) Staley, Tyler (Tasha) Pryor, Jarrett (Jullian) Stull and Nate (Allison) Stull, 26 great-grandchildren, Jakob and Josh Ferro, Cayla, Annie and Emma Cook, Tessia and Brooklyn Welch, Tabor, Alex, Levi, Isaac, Hudson and Chloe Messer, Justin, Ella, Lily, Katie and Charlee Tabor, William and Meredith Staley, Oliver and Olivia Pryor, Mills, Parker, Riley and Reese Stull, 3 brothers, Johnnie (Shirley) Tabor, Bobby (Margaret) Tabor and Marvin (Vera) Tabor, and 3 sisters, Anna (Oakey) Montgomery, Dessie Tabor and Phyllis Craig.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Tabor, a brother, Paul Tabor, 2 sisters, Faye Culbertson and Della Davis and 2 brothers-in-law, James Davis and Lonnie Craig.
His funeral will be 2:00 Thursday at Little Easter United Baptist Church, Pastors Darrell Back and Freddy Salyer presiding, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 12-2:00 Thursday at the church. Pallbearers are Todd Cook, Allan Welch, Whitney Welch, Jonathan Tabor Clinton "Bub" Tabor, Tyler Pryor, Jarrett Stull and Nate Stull. Herald and Stewart Home for Funerals have been entrusted with arrangements.
