Winfred Rein Lykins, widower of Shirley Mann Lykins and Maudie Gibson Lykins, of Jeffersonville, passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021. He was an 85 year old born in Wolfe County, Kentucky to the union of the late Stanley and Ethel Culbertson Lykins, a farmer and member of the Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by 11 children, Jean (Vance) Brinegar of Jeffersonville, Terry (Tammie) Lykins of Staffordsville, Joe (Sandra) Gibson of Jeffersonville, Jerry (Mary) Lykins of Mt. Sterling, Donna (James) Saylor of Jeffersonville, Tim (Penny) Lykins of Jeffersonville, Dwayne (Vickie) Lykins of Frankfort, Robin (Rick) Nation of Mt. Sterling, Karen (Randy) Elifritz of Bradford, Ohio, Scott (Sherry) Gibson of Jeffersonville and Sharon Koenig of Tipp City, Ohio, 7 siblings, James (Ann) Lykins, Geneva (Ronnie) Rose, Ruby (Wayne) Centers, Claire (the late Ellis) Little, Georgia(the late Doug) Becraft, Doris Gay Jones, and Reva (the late Rick) Pitts, 40 grandchildren, 97 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wives and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Ray Lykins, a daughter, Debra Kaye (Carl) Arnold, 3 granddaughters, Gina Selanders, Sheena Saylor and Jessica Lykins, a great-grandson, Justin Saylor, 2 sisters, Mary Ellen and Marie (surviving James) Mann, and 6 brothers, Gene (Mary) Lykins, Bill (Wilma) Lykins, Ben (surviving Barbara) Lykins, Roger Lykins, Larry (surviving Karen) Lykins and Renis Lykins.
His funeral will be noon Saturday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals, Pastor Terry Lykins presiding, with burial in Lykins Lane Cemetery. Visitation is 5-9:00 Friday and 10-12:00 Saturday.
