Ewell Donathan, widower of Carolyn Jean Gibbs Donathan, of Mt. Sterling, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017. He was a 76 year old native of Montgomery County, son of the late Edward and Eveleen Stull Donathan, a farmer and member of the Christian faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Martha Jean (Richard) Barnett of Noble, Illinois, a son, Greg (Mary) Donathan of Mt. Sterling, 3 grandchildren, Brian Stewart, Shane and Justin Donathan, 4 great-grandchildren, Makayla, Kinsley and Paislee Donathan and Zoey Stewart, and a sister, Geneva Strange of Jeffersonville. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Donathan Jr. and a sister, Virginia Donathan.
His funeral will be 1:00 Wednesday at Howard's Mill First Church of God with burial in Kendall Springs Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Tuesday at the church. Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals is in charge of arrangements.
