Frances Ruth Carroll, 92, died Friday, November 18, 2016. Born April 10, 1924 in Owen County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Palmer and Mary Traylor Ruth.
Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Roscoe. Also included, two daughters, Della Hardin (Tucker) of Owingsville, Shirlee Coffey (Vernon) of Mt. Sterling, two sons, Jim Carroll (Jody) of Mt. Sterling, Roger Carroll (Betsy) of Oak Hill, West Virginia, special friend and adopted daughter, Barbara Hisle, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Terri Vance, Tracy Carroll (Laura), Ann-Marye Beckham (Kyle), Josh Carroll (America), Erin Coffey Royal (Justin), Christin Carroll and Brandon Carroll, eleven great-grandchildren, J. Harris Adams, Eli Vance, Kameron Carroll, Payton Carroll, Maggie Smith, Trey Carroll, Hadley Beckham, Briggs Beckham, Larkin Royal, Bray Carroll, and Addyson Carroll, and one great-great-grandchild, Benjamin Carter Vance. She was preceded in death by a son, John Calvin "J.C.", four sisters, Sarah Alice Inman, Elizabeth Miller, Betty Ruth, Evelyn Shelton, and two brothers, John and Emmett Ruth.
Her funeral will be 1:00 Monday at Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals with burial in Machpelah Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8:00 Sunday. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers, active and honorary.
